Burrowing Owls of Tamarac

The Burrowing Owl is a tiny but long-legged owl found on our Mainlands. There is a family residing close to the Administration Blg and several behind the petanque courts and in other areas of our community. They are a protected species and it is illegal to tamper with them.

2005 - Hurricane Wilma

Hurricane Wilma was the 25th tropical cyclone and 12th hurricane of the hyperactive 2005 season, and the fifth tropical cyclone in as many months to have a significant impact on the Florida Keys. Hurricane Wilma moved across the extreme southeastern Gulf of Mexico and southern Florida peninsula during the morning hours of Monday, 24 October 2005.

That is when Allie decided to adopt our canals as its home place.
